If you've had the chance to hear Gracetown, the recently released sophomore album from San Cisco,  you'll immediately realize how quickly the Australian indie pop outfit can get you on your feet and moving. It was also obvious during their show Thursday night (July 2) at New York City's Bowery Ballroom.

But before San Cisco took the stage, Brooklyn's MOTHXR – fronted by former Gossip Girl star Penn Badgley – warmed everyone up. The band played a set filled with rock-infused soul and R&B tunes, although Badgley's crooner vocals didn't seem to carry over the way he hoped -- possibly because a lot of the audience were too busy taking pics of him. However, MOTHXR got through their set and had a few highlights when they played "Centerfold" and "Easy."

When San Cisco took the stage, they were greeted with enthusiastic applause and drummer Scarlett Stevens was surprised with a handwritten letter from a fan's 7-year-old daughter who couldn't attend that night due to the 16-and-up age restriction. Instead of starting with a new song, they went with their single "Golden Revolver." Since it was the Aussie quartet's last show in the U.S. for a while, they treated the crowd to a good selection of old and new songs. "No Friends," "Too Much Time Together" and "Run" were among the night's highlights.
