Santigold, ‘Girls’ [Listen]

Ace art-pop songstress Santigold has contributed a song to the forthcoming 'Girls -- Volume 1: Music From the HBO Original Series' soundtrack, and if nothing else, she seems intent on lodging the name of the TV show into listeners' brains. The synth- and sample-heavy track finds Santi repeating the word "girls" nearly as many times as the Beastie Boys do in their song of the same name, though we're guessing Santi's jam is slightly more empowering to the ladies.

The 'Girls' soundtrack arrives Jan. 8 via Fueled by Ramen and will also feature music by Fleet Foxes, Belle and Sebastian and Robyn, among other artists.
