The all-female post-punk group Savages just released their video for ‘Shut Up,’ the opening track off their forthcoming debut album, ‘Silence Yourself,’ and the clip has us marking the release date, May 7, on our calendars. It begins with the band in shadows, prepping to perform, while lead singer Jehnny Beth narrates the scene with what some are calling the manifesto on the album's cover.

“The world used to be silent, but now it has too many voices and the noise is a constant distraction,” she proclaims. It’s almost a minute-and-a-half into the Giorgio Testi-directed clip before the song begins, but when it does, it’s full force and uncompromising.
