Secret Colours’ new single 'Blackbird (Only One)' is a roller rink-worthy rocker, with enough jamming, casual blues and foot-stomping to keep you wheeling all night.

The Chicago-based psychedelic auteurs -- who recently chatted with Diffuser.fm via email -- mix the heavy English-style blues of the Black Angels and the creepy overtones of the Brian Jonestown Massacre. It’s sumptuous, danceable stuff from back to front.

“Lyrically, the song is about understanding yourself and how personal discoveries may effect the people around you in a way you did not intend. Good or bad,” the group tells Diffuser.fm.

“Musically,I just wanted to groove inside my time machine stuck in Manchester 1989.”

And much grooving will be had once Secret Colours’ album drops May 28. Download the track below, and remember ... benders only last until morning, but permanent psychosis lasts a hell of a lot longer.
