As Semisonic continues its unspoken recording hiatus, so too does frontman Dan Wilson continue his solo career. Having successfully completed a PledgeMusic crowdfunding campaign for his latest effort, 'Love Without Fear,' Wilson is preparing to head overseas for a short run of dates across the U.K.

'Love Without Fear' features 11 new tracks written and recorded by Wilson (along with some "super-talented musician friends"), and as he describes it, the record "is an album about feeling alone, about desperately wishing for connection and togetherness, and about finding those things and what that means." The title track will be officially released as a single on Oct. 27, just a couple of weeks after Wilson wraps up a short-run with his 'Words and Music' tour.

'Words and Music with Dan Wilson' is a concert experience like few others. Highlighting music and stories from his life, Wilson will give fans a peek behind the curtain of his musical career. At the conclusion of each night, everyone in attendance will receive an "illuminated" setlist; not only does it include the song titles performed that evening, but it also features hand-drawn illustrations from the singer-songwriter.

For the uninitiated, Wilson has a lot more on his resume than the smash hit from Semisonic, 'Closing Time.' In 2007, he won a Grammy for Song of the Year thanks to his songwriting contribution to the Dixie Chicks' 'Not Ready to Make Nice.' A few years later in 2012, after co-writing a few songs on Adele's '21' -- including co-writing, producing and playing piano on 'Someone Like You' -- Wilson shared in the Grammy award for Album of the Year.

Understandably, Wilson is excited to hit the road and celebrate his new album's single. "It was a lot of fun to write and record my own music for a change," he says in his PledgeMusic video.
