Watch Shovels & Rope Perform ‘Coping Mechanism’

At the end of last night’s (Jan. 13) 'Late Show,' David Letterman succinctly concluded that his musical guest’s performance was “delightful” -- and we couldn’t agree more. The Charleston, S.C.-based duo Shovels & Rope stopped by Letterman's stage to give a rousing performance of ‘Coping Mechanism,’ a track from their standout album from last year, ‘Swimmin’ Time.’

Husband and wife Michael Trent and Cary Ann Hearst only needed a guitar, drums and a keyboard between the two of them to share their rollicking brand of bluesy folk, and they totally killed it. Watch the performance in the video above.

Now, Shovels & Rope will be taking their act across the country with a tour that will run through mid-February. Check out the list of dates below:
