Sigur Ros Announce 2013 North American Tour, Prep for Madison Square Garden
Icelandic heroes Sigur Ros have announced a 2013 North American Tour. The concerts will be in support of ‘Valtari,’ which was released back in May and marked their first album since 2008′s ‘Meo suo i eyrum vio spilum endalaust.’
While they’re set to play mostly mid-size arenas — starting with the Patriot Center in Fairfax, Va., on March 24 and ending with San Francisco’s Bill Graham Civic Auditorium on April 17 — one date stands out: March 25. On that evening, they’ll take the stage at New York City’s world-famous Madison Square Garden.
Indie acts are starting to play the Garden with more frequency. On Feb. 8, 2013, Passion Pit drop by the historic venue, with Matt & Kim as the openers, and LCD Soundsystem staged their farewell show there on April 2, 2011.
Tickets for the MSG show go on sale Friday (Nov. 16) at 9AM, with a pre-sale beginning Nov. 14 at 10AM.
