The Smashing Pumpkins have been tapped to headline the final night of the Red Bull Sound Select Presents: 120 Hours in Austin concert series, a five-day event taking place this week in Austin that kicked off yesterday (March 12), runs through Saturday (March 16) and is free with RSVP. The Sword, Ringo Deathstarr and Girl in a Coma are also slated to perform on Saturday night, finishing up a week of gigs that's considered a teaser for the rest of the Sound Select 2013 program.

Following 120 Hours in Austin, additional Red Bull Sound Select events will include local artist showcases, national festivals, giveaways for fans and more -- all leading up to this summer's unveiling of the beta version of the Red Bull Sound Select's digital platform, whatever that is.

Other bands performing this week at 120 Hours in Austin include Best Coast, Deer Tick, Heliotropes and rapper Master P. Several participants were chosen by fans who attended regional concerts held last month in cities across the country. Some lucky fans were even given all-expenses-paid trips to Austin to catch this week's festivities.

Check out the week's entire 120 Hours in Austin schedule and RSVP for any show -- including the Pumpkins' headlining gig -- here.
