Just in time for the holiday season, Smashing Pumpkins will release a massive box set dedicated to their 1995 magnum opus 'Mellon Collie And The Infinite Sadness' on Dec. 4.

This new edition contains the original two-CD set and three more CDs comprising previously unreleased alternate takes, demos and outtakes. A sixth disc is a live DVD containing 10 songs from London's Brixton Academy and four songs performed on the German television show 'Rockpalast.' Both were recorded in the springs of 2006. In addition, a decoupage kit allowing you to create "your own scenes from the Mellon Collie universe" is also included in the package.

The set will also be released on four LPs and as a digital download. A remastered version of the original album will also be available.

The original release, propelled by the hits 'Bullet With Butterfly Wings' and 'Tonight, Tonight,' has sold more than five million copies to date. Back in the day, frontman Billy Corgan said that he was looking to make a concept album with the scope of Pink Floyd's 1979 masterwork 'The Wall' for a new generation. As it happens, 'The Wall' received similar reissue treatment earlier this year.
