Smith Westerns, ‘Varsity’ – New Video

Chicago-based indie rockers Smith Westerns remind us that spring is in the air with their colorful new video for ‘Varsity.’ Directed by Alan Del Rio Ortiz, the dreamlike clip (watch above) is filled with feelgood scenes reminiscent of young love.

"I wanted to make a non narrative video clip about young love without showing the usual conventions of going on dates or hanging out at the mall," said Del Rio Ortiz in a statement. "We studied this couple as they would study themselves and each other in their dreams, and used abstractly sexual imagery to give it a hallucinogenic and hazy atmosphere."

The track appears on Smith Westerns' forthcoming album ‘Soft Will,’ due out on June 25 via Mom+Pop. They have a series of North American tour dates lined up to support their new record – check out their official site for more info.
