Black Keys singer-guitarist Dan Auerbach goes it alone for 'Trouble Weighs a Ton,' a tune off his 2009 solo album 'Keep It Hid' that's featured in the trailer for Season 5 of  'Sons of Anarchy.' The preview of the the FX cable network show -- about the lives of a close-knit outlaw motorcycle club living in a fictional town in central California -- depicts a pretty dramatic scene from Season 5, and Auerbach's soulful, bluesy ballad is the perfect musical accompaniment.

It's funny to think that there was a time when the Black Keys refused to allow their music to be featured in promotional spots for fear of being "labeled sellouts." Dan Auerbach has since recalled the days when the Keys were touring for peanuts but still "turned down a big offer for an amount of money that was more than our parents would make in an entire year."

They soon decided it was a foolish move and jumped at the next chance to license their music for a commercial. Since then, Keys tunes have shown up in everything from a NCAA March Madness commercial to the trailer for the Will Ferrell and Zach Galifianakis comedy flick 'The Candidate' to a promo spot for the HSBC Hong Kong 7s rugby tournament. Literally, they've been all over the map -- and expect Auerbach's solo material to soon take a similar path.
