Big news today from Soundgarden's official YouTube page: The band released a 35-second clip of an aggressive new track called 'Worse Dreams' and announced that its long-awaited comeback album will be titled 'King Animal.'

The video shows the band hard at work in the studio recording the new music and ends with footage of screaming fans from Soundgarden's most recent live shows. The clip ends by announcing the album's release date as "Autumn 2012," although guitarist Kim Thayil has already pegged Nov. 13 as the specific street date.

The song teaser can also be heard at soundgardenkinganimal.com, which serves as the new entry page to the group's official website. Based on the short clip, 'Worse Dreams' is a heavy track that sounds like what we've come to expect from Soundgarden over the years.

'King Animal' will be the group's first album of new material since ‘Down on the Upside’ in 1996. Other song titles confirmed for the record are 'Blood on the Valley Floor’ and ‘A Thousand Days Before.' Thayil has said the album "re-establishes that we still rock, we're still heavy, and we're still a little weird."
