It was impossible to miss Sponge on modern rock radio in the mid- to late ‘90s. Songs like ‘Plowed,’ ‘Molly (16 Candles Down the Drain)’ and ‘Wax Ecstatic (To Sell Angelina)’ became big hits for the Detroit-based combo, helping them land live slots with the likes of Guns N’ Roses, Iggy Pop and Soundgarden.

Earlier this year, Sponge released ‘Stop the Bleeding,’ their seventh studio album, and now the group is teaming up with Spacehog for a co-headlining run of U.S. tour dates kicking off on Dec. 5 at the Emporium on Long Island.

To help celebrate the upcoming trek, Diffuser.fm is brining you the exclusive video premiere of ‘Come In From the Rain,’ a track from ‘Stop the Bleeding.'

"The concept was what if Marilyn Monroe did not die of the drug overdose but miraculously survived,” Sponge singer Vinnie Dombroski tells Diffuser.fm about the video, which was directed by Steve Greene. “She sheds everything about the old life/lifestyle and leaves it all behind. It’s a pretty ambitious concept to nail down in a video, however, we thought the concept was something to pursue in a broader sense using a Marilyn Monroe type character who eventually sheds the facade walking away from the trappings of a destructive lifestyle."

‘Stop the Bleeding’ is available now on iTunes. Click here for a full list of Sponge/Spacehog tour dates.
