We haven't even gotten over the demise of the Handsome Furs yet, and band member Dan Boeckner has already moved on to his next project: a new group with Spoon's Britt Daniel and New Bomb Turks' Sam Brown, dubbed Divine Fits.

They aren't wasting any time getting down to business, either -- the band is already in the studio with producer Nick Launay, whose previous credits include records from Arcade Fire and Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and planning to release its debut album via Merge later this year.

As reported by Pitchfork, Divine Fits have been making the social media rounds on Twitter, where they announced their existence by tweeting, "Hi. We are Divine Fits from LA, CA. We've been making a racket while the pool drains into the yard. We want to share it with you soon."

Boeckner has been idling since calling it quits with Handsome Furs (and going on indefinite hiatus with his other project, Wolf Parade), while Spoon are a couple of years removed from their latest album (2010's 'Transference'), and the New Bomb Turks have gone into a state of hibernation since releasing 2003's 'Switchblade Tongues and Butterknife Brains.' All that pent up creativity should come in handy during the Divine Fits sessions.
