After teasing their fans relentlessly with song snippets and teaser trailers, Spoon have finally revealed their new album's title, which is 'They Want My Soul.' It comes out Aug. 5 and will be the band's first record released by the label Loma Vista.

This album also marks a few other firsts for the band: It's the first LP to include the newest member, Alex Fischel, on keyboards. Fischel played with Spoon frontman Britt Daniels' side project, the Divine Fits.

This was also the first time the band recorded an album with an outside producer. They enlisted the help of Flaming Lips and Mercury Rev producer Dave Fridmann. In a new interview with NPR, Daniels and Spoon drummer Jim Eno said Fridmann brought some new sounds to the record. When asked about one particular guitar sound, neither of them knew how it was produced.

Daniels said, "We wish we knew, because once we recorded the record, then we went about trying to learn the songs live. And nobody could remember what pedals were involved with making that."

We still don't know what the cryptic 'Spoon R.I.P.' post means, but we're supposedly going to find out tomorrow. We showed a video of the band performing one of the new songs at a festival in Barcelona a few days ago. Here's another fan-shot video of the new song.
