Seattle-based singer Star Anna’s sophomore solo album, ‘Go to Hell,’ doubles down on her brand of gritty Americana.

This is her fourth record, following two albums with her band the Laughing Dogs and her 2009 solo debut, ‘Crooked Path.’ Her work has inspired support from the likes of Pearl Jam guitarist Mike McCready and Guns ‘n’ Roses bassist Duff McKagan, and we think you might be into it, too.

When recording the new album, Star Anna was able to put down the guitar and focus her attention on singing, and it pays off. The LP’s lead track, 'For Anyone' -- which we're offering for free download below -- shows off her raspy soulfulness. If the goal was to tell everyone to 'Go to Hell,' the singer uses her quiet edge to deliver that message in a more nuanced way than if she screamed it at the top of her lungs.

“To me, this song is about falling in love with someone only to find out they aren’t who you thought they were,” she tells Diffuser.fm. “They disappear like a ghost, and you’re left to pick up the pieces.”
