Star From Smashing Pumpkins’ ‘Butterfly Wings’ Video Fetches Big eBay Bucks

A signed prop from the Smashing Pumpkins' 'Bullet With Butterfly Wings' video was in high demand recently on eBay, selling for $600.

The one-of-a-kind prop was a handmade copper star that appeared behind Billy Corgan and other bandmembers during the performance scenes in the video. As a prominent item from one of the band's most popular music videos, the star is a cool piece of memorabilia that any Pumpkins fan would surely love to have.

The star is especially valuable because it features autographs of all four members of the band at the time - Corgan, James Iha, Jimmy Chamberlin and D'arcy. Billy's signature includes the year "1995" and a star. D'arcy wrote, "Love D'arcy," while James and Jimmy included smiley faces in their autographs. It is not known how the seller manage to acquire the star.

Smashing Pumpkins merchandise is a hot item on eBay. An 'Adore' poster with a personalized Corgan signature sold for $700, while another personalized poster from Corgan's first solo concert nabbed $750.

Though the original Pumpkins lineup is long gone, Corgan continues to soldier on. The Pumpkins' next album 'Oceania' is due this summer.
