Stars Announce 2012 Tour Dates

Canadian indie darlings Stars will be backing their forthcoming album ‘The North’ with an extensive North American tour that will feature a slew of dates supporting fellow Canucks Metric in their home country and a lengthy U.S. headlining trek with a nice surprise: Any fan who buys a ticket to a headlining show will receive a free copy of ‘The North.’

That free copy will come in the form of a digital download available on the disc’s Sept. 4 release date, plus the immediate opportunity to download first track ‘The Theory of Relativity.’ That track is currently available for free to anybody — ticket purchasers or not — on the band’s website, but that may not last, so you may want to get it now for free while you still can. For those looking to buy tickets, they are now on sale, also at the band’s website.
