In two short weeks, Baroness will return with their fourth album Purple. Before then, the alt-metal outfit has shared one final taste of what’s to come.

“Morningstar” serves as Purple’s opening salvo, and it’s just as relentless and full-throated as the songs that preceded it. Take a listen in the video at the top of the page and then revisit “Shock Me” and “Chlorine & Wine.” The album will boast 10 tracks in all.

Purple -- which you can pre-order now at iTunes -- will land on Dec. 18 via the band’s own Abraxan Hymns. It follows Baroness’ 2012 full-length Yellow & Green.

Last month, the Savannah, Ga.-based crew kicked of a tour behind Purple in Columbus. Next, they’ll make a stop in Oklahoma City on Dec. 4. They’ll wrap things up just before Christmas, playing a show in Brooklyn on Dec. 20. Get more details at ticket information at the band’s website.
