He's taken fans to 'Michigan' and 'Illinois,' but on his latest tour, Sufjan Stevens is leading listeners on a different kind of journey by adding 'Over the Rainbow' to his set list.

Fan footage captured Stevens performing the pop standard on the Sydney stop of his tour with the National's Bryce Dessner and composer Nico Muhly; the trio was at the Vivid Festival, an eclectic gathering of art, technology and music that's making room for everything from light installations to sets from Karen O and Imogen Heap.

Fitting with the festival's theme, Stevens, Dessner and Muhly have dedicated their current tour to collaborative art, featuring a song selection inspired by various facets of the solar system. It's an intriguing detour for Stevens, who hasn't released a full-length album under his own name since 2010's 'Age of Adz' -- but as the below performance makes clear, he hasn't lost his fondness for an indelible melody.
