Superchunk Spoof Aging Hipsters in ‘Void’ Video

This week, Superchunk head to the U.K. for the All Tomorrow’s Parties fest at Camber Sands, but before jumping the pond, the indie heroes made a video for ‘Void,’ the latest single from their 10th album, ‘I Hate Music.’

Directed by writer Scott Jacobson, the clip stars ‘Human Giant’s’ Jon Glaser, actors Jon Benjamin and Ted Travelstead and Superchunk themselves. It also features cameos from Ava Luna, Heliotropes, Lost Boy? and Weird Womb. Shot in a club, it’s a touching yet hilarious spoof on aging hipsters hanging out and trying to retain relevance to a scene. A touch of self-effacing autobiography, perhaps?

Superchunk follow ATP with several U.K. dates and then trek though Scandinavia before hitting Chicago on Jan. 18 for the Tomorrow Never Knows Festival at the Metro. The short U.S. jaunt ends in February, in the warmer climes of Texas.
