The best musicians eat, breathe and sleep music, and just because you start playing shows and making records, it doesn't mean you stop being a fan. As SXSW 2013 approaches, we here at Diffuser.fm are asking some of our favorite showcasing artists to share the acts they're most looking forward to seeing in Austin this year. Among those we enlisted was Kentucky native James Friley, better known as Idiot Glee.

Last month, the singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and wonderfully idiosyncratic recycler and remixer of disparate pop sounds released the EP 'Life Without Jazz,' the follow-up to his 2011 debut album, 'Paddywhack.' According to one reviewer, it's a record "full of internal contradictions and strange juxtapositions that somehow coalesce into an addictive, if perplexing, sound," and we're inclined to agree.

Idiot Glee is scheduled to play five shows as part of SXSW 2013 -- check out his itinerary here -- but if he's able to sneak off and hear some music, he's hoping to check out the following five acts. Scroll down to read his thoughts on each.

Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds

It might sound silly, but I've never taken the time to get into Nick Cave. All I know is that the bits and pieces I've heard have sounded great. The Singer sounds great. All of my favorite artists love Nick Cave. Gotta see him!

    Mac DeMarco

I've seen Mac several times. He's got one of my favorite live acts and he's one of my favorite musicians right now.

    Dent May

One of my favorite albums from last year. I saw him in Lexington a month ago, such a good live band.

    Majical Cloudz

Another act I caught at Al's Bar in Lexington this year. Super good, would love to see again.

    Jacco Gardner

Just heard his new album for the first time and it sounds really good. Wondering how it does live!
