The third and final day (Oct. 6) of Austin City Limits' first weekend might rightly be dubbed 'The Day Everyone Wore Pants.' For the first time in its 12-year history, the Austin City Limits Music Festival expanded to two weekends (Oct. 4-6 and 11-13), using a repeat-lineup model similar to Coachella’s.

The Austin City Limits Festival makes its highly anticipated return to Austin's scenic Zilker Park this fall, and for the first time ever, the festivities will span two weekends: Oct. 4-6 and Oct. 11-13. Beginning in 2013, the Austin City Limits Festival will take place over two weekends. A vote by the Austin City Council will allow C3 Presents, who also organize Lollapalooza, to expand the festival, which has been held in Austin's Zilker Park since 2002.

That's exactly what may happen to the Austin City Limits Music Festival in 2013, according to the local Austin, Texas newspaper The Statesman, if C3 Presents -- the producers of the annual gathering -- get their way.

The full lineup for the 2012 Austin City Limits Festival won't be revealed until May 22, but thanks to the festival's enterprising organizers, a few of the acts are being revealed over the weekend.
