While you never can tell when another blizzard (or overhyped flurries) will add another day to winter, the record release calendar is just starting to heat up.
Built to Spill

On April 18, vinyl enthusiasts across the world will celebrate Record Store Day.
If you only listen to five new songs today, make it these. (Also: learn to live a little.)
Built to Spill have announced they will release their first album in the six years.
We know one thing about the plan: It keeps coming up again. If the plan sounds like Built to Spill, though, we're fine with that.
After two albums on super-small indie labels, Built to Spill took advantage of their growing buzz by signing with a major record company in 1995. The move not only gave the Idaho trio’s third album, ‘Perfect From Now On,’ a desperately needed promotional push, it also upped the amount of time and cash spent on the recording. The result was the band’s first great album, an eight-song noise mountain that owed as much to Neil Young’s epic guitar showdowns as it did to indie-rock’s DIY aesthetic.
