Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros

The set list for the Dave Matthews Band's summer tour is shaping up to be a typically loose-knit affair, featuring new songs, a few surprising older songs, and even some surprising collaborations with their opening acts. Over the weekend, that last item produced an unannounced duet between Matthews and Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros.

One of the acts Howard Stern got to critique in his highly-anticipated debut as a judge on 'America's Got Talent' last night was the father/daughter team of Jorge and Alexa Narvaez, who charmed even the hard-to-please shock jock with their cover of 'Home' by Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros.

Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros have released a video for 'Mother,' their tribute to moms that appears on the Starbucks compilation 'Every Mother Counts.' Directed by singer Alex Ebert, the clip uses an amateur style that resembles vintage movies.

We still have to get through a few more weeks before Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros return with their new album 'Here,' but to help ease the wait, the band appeared on 'The Late Show With David Letterman' last night (May 10) to perform new song 'Man on Fire.'

Coffee lovers will see the compilation 'Every Mother Counts' at their local Starbucks store starting next month. The collection, compiled by model Christy Turlington, includes songs from Coldplay, Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder, Dave Matthews Band and more. Los Angeles-based Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros have also contributed a track for the disc, which is appropriately entitled 'Mother.'

On May 29, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros will put out their second album, 'Here' on Community Music / Vagrant Records. A few weeks ago, they released the first single, 'Man on Fire.' The second single from 'Here,' called 'That's What's Up,' is now streaming via SoundCloud.

Although released in 2009, 'Home' by Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros slowly built traction and became a hit in 2010. Its folksy vibe, complete with whistling and a singalong chorus, wound up in seemingly every commercial, TV show and movie trailer for an entire year. Now they're back with a second album, 'Here,' on May 29, and the first single, 'Man on Fire,' has been released.

Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros have announced the name and release date of their second studio album. The Alex Ebert-led outfit have revealed that their highly anticipated sophomore LP will be entitled 'Here,' and the record is slated for release on May 29 through Community Music / Vagrant Records.
