The lineup for Optimus Primavera Sound 2013 – set to take place from May 30-June 1 in Porto, Portugal’s Parque da Cidade – has been announced. Hosted by the same folks behind the Primavera Sound festival in Barcelona, the event will feature My Bloody Valentine, Grizzly Bear, Blur and many more.

Director Kris Moyes tries to distill the drive to create down to its organic essence in Grizzly Bear's new video for 'Gun-Shy, the latest single off their 'Shields' album. "If the creativity of any living creature could be seen, what would it look like?" Moyes asked New York magazine last fall in reference to the clip, which he said was all about "extracting creativity."

A benefit for Hurricane Sandy at Terminal 5 in New York City last night brought together four bands -- Cults, the Antlers, Grizzly Bear and Sleigh Bells -- from all corners of indie rock, from the weepy to the loud. Even with the pall of the Connecticut school shootings cast over the concert, it turned out to be a powerful mix. Organizers announced several times that the sold-out show had raised more than $300,000, all going to the Mayor's Fund to Advance New York City, which continues to rebuild parts of the city devastated by Hurricane Sandy in October.

Grizzly Bear's Ed Droste seemed genuinely bummed by his band's recent Grammy nomination snub -- and rightfully so, considering all the praise their 'Sheilds' album has garnered -- but he's not letting it keep him down. Droste and the Bear boys hit the stage of 'The Late Show With David Letterman' last night (Dec. 12) to bust out 'Shields' single 'Yet Again,' and the tight performance may have given the Grammy noms committee pause. Doesn't that crisp new copy of 'Shields' look strangely at home in the hands of Jay Leno as he holds up at while introducing Grizzly Bear? New York magazine cover stars and everybody's favorite rock alter boys (except ours, apparently) hit the 'The Tonight Show With Jay Leno' stage last night (Oct. 11) to perform 'Speak in Rounds,' an intricate number from 'Shields' that starts slow but quickly gains momentum and ultimately comes across sublimely on TV (or computer), with new touring keyboardist Aaron Arntz giving a little extra jolt of energy to the proceedings.

By the time Ed Droste sings, “Yet again, we are the only ones,” you will need no further reminder of what makes Grizzly Bear so mesmerizing. They have long been masters of harmonic hypnosis (see: ‘Ready, Able’) but their newest, ‘Yet Again,’ is exceptionally enchanting.
