Bestival: Best of All?
This year marks the 10th anniversary of the U.K.'s annual Bestival festival, and organizers have announced the first round of artists on a bill that promises to be one of the most eclectic of the 2013 festival season. The Flaming Lips, Franz Ferdinand, M.I.A., the Knife and Bombay Bicycle Club are among the acts set to appear at Bestival 2013 which takes place from Sept. 5-8 on the Isle of Wight,

M.I.A.'s much-delayed follow-up to 2010′s ‘Maya’ had been scheduled to finally drop in April, but now it looks like the disc, 'Matangi,' will be pushed back further -- and this time, it's her label's fault. In an interview with Australia's Gold Coast, M.I.A. claims that Interscope Records dissed the disc that she turned in, calling it "too positive" and asking her to rework the material

M.I.A., ‘Born Free’ – Banned Music Videos
M.I.A.'s provocative music video for 'Born Free,' a tune from her third album, 2010's 'Maya,' depicts a genocide against, of all things, red-haired people. The nine-minute Romain Gavras-directed short film was made without the prior knowledge of M.I.A.'s record label, and the resulting clip was banned outright from YouTube in both the U.S. and U.K.

M.I.A.'s follow-up to 2010's 'Maya' isn't arriving this month after all, but all is not lost. After constant bombardment from fans hoping to hear new music from the singer, M.I.A. herself emailed some lucky fans a new tune titled 'atTENTion,' a three-minute-plus jam that mashes together thick layers of looped percussion, spoken samples, auto-tuned vocals and dubstep bass. And now that that song ha

‘The Heat’ -- a new film starring Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy -- follows the misfit pair of women in their quest to take down a drug lord. In the trailer for the upcoming comedy, the lyrics “Live fast, die young / Bad girls do it well” are appropriately paired with clips of the unruly females causing trouble wherever they go. These lyrics are from the tune ‘Bad Girls’ by M.I.A.

Many of pop music's best and brightest filed into the Staples Center in Los Angeles last night (Sept. 6) for the 2012 MTV VMAs, and although One Direction were the night's big winners with three awards, that still left plenty of room for other artists -- including Coldplay, M.I.A. and Skrillex -- to take home their own moon men.
