Pearl Jam guitarist Mike McCready hosted his 14th annual Crohn's Disease benefit in Seattle over the weekend and he brought along a few famous friends.
“The metalheads have Dave Grohl to thank for that," Grammys producer Ken Ehrlich revealed.
The one-off supergroup covered the Motorhead classic in tribute to Lemmy Kilmister at the annual Dimebash in honor of the late Pantera guitarist Dimebag Darrell.
"It’s one thing when you have a hero, but it’s another thing when your hero becomes your friend,” Grohl said of the late Motorhead frontman.
The friends and family of Lemmy Kilmister are giving fans the chance to witness the late Motörhead frontman's memorial service.
Grohl paid tribute to the late Motorhead frontman by getting the 'Ace of Spades' logo tattooed to his forearm.
"There is no easy way to say this," Motorhead wrote in a statement, "our mighty, noble friend Lemmy passed away today after a short battle with an extremely aggressive cancer."
There are some songs you just don't dare cover, songs so associated with a particular artist that to try and cover them just seems ludicrous and pointless.
