With New Order currently touring without founding bassist Peter Hook, who is estranged from the band, Hook has announced plans to perform New Order's first two albums during a pair of shows with his own band, the Light. The gigs are scheduled to take place Jan. 17 in London and the following day in Manchester, England.

New Order frontman Bernard Sumner expects the band to meet up early in 2013 to discuss the possibility of working on their first new material since 'Waiting for the Sirens Call,' which dropped back in 2005. "We finish touring at the end of October and then we've got November off," Sumner tells BBC Radio 6. "After Christmas, we're going to have a meeting about writing some new stuff.

New Order have announced plans to embark on a fall 2012 tour in North America that will include the band's first U.S. concert in six years and first trip to Canada in more than a decade. The brief jaunt kicks off on Oct. 5 in San Francisco and is scheduled to wind down on Oct. 23 in Toronto.
