The big question mark on Saturday at Coachella 2013 was whether Daft Punk would make an appearance. Well, they didn't. However, fellow French group Phoenix did get an unexpected visitor in the form of R. Kelly, so fans craving a dramatic moment at least left feeling somewhat pleased. As for their set, Phoenix attracted a massive audience and gave a strong performance as major festival headliners,

Phoenix capped their performance at Coachella last night by bringing out R&B star R. Kelly, who sang his excellent 2003 hit 'Ignition (Remix)' with the French band. You can see the video of their onstage collaboration below.

Phoenix will release their fifth album, 'Bankrupt!,' on April 23. You've probably heard the first single 'Entertainment' or saw its video. Last night, the French quartet stopped by 'Saturday Night Live' to play two new songs from the upcoming record, including 'Entertainment.'

We’ve been eagerly awaiting the lineup for Lollapalooza 2013 — set to take place in Chicago’s Grant Park on Aug. 2-4 — and according to the Chicago Tribune, this year’s fest will feature headliners Mumford and Sons, Phoenix, Vampire Weekend and the Killers.

It took nearly four years for Phoenix to follow their breakthrough album 'Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix' with 'Entertainment,' the lead single off their forthcoming follow-up disc, 'Bankrupt!' By contrast, in the four weeks since the song's release, Dinosaur Jr. have managed to record and release their own version.

Phoenix are headed back to 'Saturday Night Live.' The French electro-rockers have signed up for an April 6 appearance on the weekly NBC comedy, during which they'll perform tunes from their forthcoming album 'Bankrupt!' Actress Melissa McCarthy has been tapped to host that night's episode.

The lineup has been announced for Osheaga 2013, which takes place from Aug. 2-4 at the scenic Parc Jean-Drapeau in Montreal, Canada. The three-day festival boasts performances by Mumford and Sons, Phoenix and the Cure, plus dozens more.

The Reading and Leeds Music Festivals – a pair of annual events held, naturally enough, in Reading and Leeds, England – unveiled several acts on this year’s lineup back in February. Now, organizers have announced even more additions, including Green Day, Phoenix and Nine Inch Nails.

The first-ever Grove Music Festival is set to take place at the Commons at Butler’s Barracks National Historic Site in Canada’s idyllic Niagara-on-the-Lake on Aug. 3, and the lineup features the Gaslight Anthem, Phoenix and Wavves, plus many more.

French electro-rockers Phoenix had hands down one of the catchiest platters of the year in 2009 with 'Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix' and its string of dance-stompers like 'Lisztomania,' '1901' and 'Too Young.' Whether their forthcoming follow-up 'Bankrupt!' continues the hit parade remains to be seen, but first single 'Entertainment' certainly starts things off on a good foot.
