Queens of the Stone Age

Oh, how Josh Homme and his Queens of the Stone Age love to keep us guessing. The band hasn't released an album in six years, but they've taken to teasing new music on their website and writing strange letters to European mags such as Kerrang!, Uncut and Mojo, dropping hints, clues and details. Now, it seems, we know the album's title, cover art (that's it on the left) and release date.

Dave Grohl isn't an official member of Queens of the Stone Age -- he serves as guest drummer on the new album -- but that didn't stop the Foo Fighters frontman from revealing that he'll be joined on the disc by a much more unlikely guest: Elton John.

Former Queens of the Stone Age bassist Nick Oliveri has recorded vocals for a song that's set to appear on the band's next album, a post on his own band Mondo Generator's website reveals. Oliveri, who previously played with QOTSA from 1998 to 2004, also has rejoined Kyuss, the band he formed with Queens frontman Josh Homme in the late '80s.

Well, now we know how Dave Grohl was planning on spending the Foo Fighers hiatus. He has returned to Queens of the Stone Age, the alternative band fronted by former Kyuss guitarist Josh Homme that he drummed for in 2002.

Kyuss Lives! claim they have been caught by surprise in regards to Josh Homme's lawsuit against the band. The current incarnation of Kyuss said they are "shocked and saddened" by Homme's decision to sue his former bandmates.

It's never a good thing when you have to take your former band mates to court, but that's exactly what Josh Homme is forced to do. The Queens of the Stone Age / Them Crooked Vultures frontman has taken legal action against members of Kyuss Lives!, the recent version of his former group Kyuss.
