Tegan and Sara rocked the stage of ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’ last night (Jan. 31) with a performance of their single ‘Closer,’ and they certainly didn’t disappoint with their passionate delivery of the catchy tune.

Beneath all the fizzy synths and sugarcoated hooks in a typical Tegan and Sara song are some serious observations about modern love. On their seventh album, ‘Heartthrob,’ the Canadian twins go through all the ups and downs of love just as you’d expect any levelheaded person to: with self-doubt, some hurt, some anger and a whole mess of insecurity and neuroses.

Tegan and Sara have postponed two shows at the Beacon Theatre in New York City due to illness. The Canadian sister act was to have played tonight (Jan. 28) and tomorrow at the storied Manhattan venue, but they'll instead return for makeup dates on Feb. 19 and 20. Tickets from the original concerts will be honored, and refunds will be available for those who can't make next month's gigs.
