The Cure vs. Wilco – Song Parallels
On the surface, there wouldn't seem to be much in common between the Cure and Wilco; the former band is known for its gloomy, synth-assisted love songs, while the latter rose from the ashes of the pioneering alt-country act Uncle Tupelo. But maybe they have more in common than we thought.

Veteran mope rockers the Cure went the cute-baby route for the cover of 'Galore: The Singles 1987-1997,' a compilation featuring more than a dozen hits and favorites from the fantastic middle era of their career. Which makes sense: With so many great cuts near and dear to frontman Robert Smith's heart, 'Galore' may just be a collection of his babies...

This certainly isn't the ugliest ink job in the world, and the lyrics of "Daylight licked me into shape / I must have been asleep for days" from 'Just Like Heaven' are among Cure singer Robert Smith's most memorable. That said, do you really want words from a song about suicide, depression or loneliness -- those are just guesses, but no matter how you interpret it, it's clearly a pretty

There are few things worse that can happen at a concert than a technical problem causing a delay. It's even worse at a festival where there are time constraints due to the other acts or webcasts or local curfews. However, it can also mean that fans can sometimes get a one-of-a-kind impromptu experience, as happened at Spain's Bilbao BBK Live festival on Thursday (July 12).

It was 1980. The U.S. Hockey team had just pulled the biggest upset in Olympic history, Jimmy Carter was in office, and a little known band called the Cure were coming to the U.S. for the first time. Years later, the Cure are one of music's most enduring bands, having strung together a slew of modern rock hits along the way.

Smashing Pumpkins Billy Corgan Claims the Cure’s Robert Smith Tried to Make Out With Him
Smashing Pumpkins ringleader Billy Corgan has said some wild things throughout his career. From feuds with Courtney Love to claiming rock has been taken over by "posers," the alt-rock royalty has never been one to sugarcoat what comes out of his mouth. Even with that said, Corgan's recent comments about the Cure frontman Robert Smith seems hard to believe.

The Cure Have No Plans to Release New Music
The Cure were one of the most influential groups in the '80s and early '90s (and one of our favorite bands of all time), which allows them to still get invited to perform at huge festivals around the world, including a headlining slot at this year's Reading and Leeds festivals. Sadly, it seems the goth-rock pioneers are content with just playing live shows and have no intention of releasing new mu
