Ready for a Drums solo? The Drums frontman Jonny Pierce has announced a 2013 release for his as-yet-untitled debut solo album, and today, he's unveiled a video for the track 'I Didn't Realise.' The clip features black-and-white footage of Pierce climbing around a window well, while the song has an electro-pop sound to it that brings to mind Goat Explosion, his pre-Drums band with guitarist Adam Ke

While Chris Brown and Drake are busy whipping bottles of Dom Perignon at each other's heads and Pusha T and Lil Wayne are raising beef like an Omaha cow farm, the indie rock world is seeing its own seeds of discord being sewn with Brooklyn trio the Drums dissing the recent trend of indie supergroups in the pages of NME.

Ballet just got a whole lot more interesting for music enthusiasts. Mark Ronson has been working on the score for a ballet with Miike Snow’s Andrew Wyatt called ‘Carbon Life.’ Along the way he’s had help from a lot of talented friends from the music realm, the most recent contributors being Jonathan Pierce from the Drums and Alison Mosshart of the Kills.

Summer is coming and if you want to speed up the time between now and then, crank the Drums' 'Days,' since the dreamy song is emblematic of a lazy summer afternoon. It's also representative of the band's airy, roomy, indie rock that's infused with lightness. But there's also depth here, which isn't always easy to achieve -- yet somehow, the Drums make it look easy.
