While other artists are busy premiering new tracks and LPs, Vampire Weekend have kicked off 2014 with a modern twist on an old classic. Dusting off their Italian skills, the guys have decided to tackle 'Con Te Partiro' ('Time To Say Goodbye'), originally sung by Andrea Bocelli.
Vampire Weekend topped the charts in 2013 with the release of their third LP, 'Modern Vampires of the City.' Just when we thought the guys would chill during the holiday season, they decided to end the year with a bang and drop a new remix of the tune 'Step' featuring rapper Danny Brown, as well as Heems and Despot, formerly of Das Racist.
The seventh annual iTunes Festival returns to London this fall with a number of top-name acts in tow. The fest — set to run every night of September at the Roundhouse in Camden — features more than 60 acts, including several new additions, among them Vampire Weekend, Kings of Leon, Paramore, Sigur Ros, Rizzle Kicks and Italian composer Ludovico Einaudi.
If you missed out on Boston Calling last weekend, don’t worry – you’ll have another chance to catch the festival this fall. The second installment of the fest is set to run from Sept. 7-8 at City Hall Plaza, and the lineup features an array of top-name acts, including co-headliners Vampire Weekend and Passion Pit.
This past weekend, Vampire Weekend appeared on ‘SNL’ to play a couple of new songs, and last night (May 13), they hit the stage of ‘Late Night With Jimmy Fallon’ to perform a couple more: ‘Ya Hey’ (above) and the web-exclusive ‘Everlasting Arms’ (below).
