Vampire Weekend

Hopefully, Vampire Weekend fans out there who circled May 7 on the calendar did so in pencil. That's because the New York City band has pushed back the release date of their new album, 'Modern Vampires of the City,' by one week, to May 14.

It's been nearly three years since we've heard new music from Vampire Weekend, but the wait is finally over. The band has premiered two news songs -- 'Diane Young,' the first single off their forthcoming 'Modern Vampires of the City' album, and 'Step,' another cut from the disc -- ahead of the May 7 release date, and you can listen to both in their entirety here.

Vampire Weekend performed a short set of songs at the Radio Day Stage inside the Austin Convention Center at yesterday's South by Southwest music fest. Their show focused on some new songs but included a few old faves as well.

Delaware’s Firefly Festival, back for its second consecutive year, is set to take place at the Woodlands of Dover International Speedway from June 21-23. The three-day affair, led by headliners Red Hot Chili Peppers and Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, boasts performances by Vampire Weekend, Foster the People and dozens more.

Vampire Weekend used both a modern and an old-fashioned method to reveal the title and release date for their third album, 'Modern Vampires of the City,' which is due out May 7. The band tweeted the news after it placed a classified ad in the New York Times, making this a dual print and social media reveal.

Vampire Weekend have announced a May 7 release date for their as-yet-untitled third album. The date was confirmed Tuesday (Jan. 22) with a post on the splash page of the band's official website, which includes the cryptic letters "MVOTO" in the bottom-left corner of the screen.
