The Tallest Man on Earth – the brainchild of Swedish singer-songwriter Kristian Matsson – will return with a new album on May 12 via Dead Oceans.

Dark Bird Is Home will be Matsson’s fourth album under the Tallest Man on Earth stage moniker, following his 2012 effort, There’s No Leaving Now. Watch a brief album trailer above, which features a spoken-word song from Matsson. Then check out the forthcoming disc's artwork:

Along with the announcement of the upcoming LP, Matsson premiered the album’s lead single, “Sagres,” which you can hear below:

The brand-new song's rich instrumentation is a departure from Mattson's usual stripped-down acoustic output, and it's no doubt a sign of things to come. He'll launch a U.S. tour in May, which will be the indie-folk singer’s first-ever run of dates accompanied by a full band to support his new sound. Check out the full list of dates below, which culminates with appearances at Forecastle in Louisville and the inaugural Eaux Claire music festival in Wisconsin.
