While we’re still a little bitter over the Golden Globes snubbing Trent Reznor’s work on 'Gone Girl' along with Lana Del Rey's titular song for Tim Burton's 'Big Eyes' and Lorde's 'Yellow Flicker Beat' for 'The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part I' -- Reznor was nominated for Best Original Score while Del Rey and Lorde were nominated for Best Original Song -- we can say at least they were nominated.

The three artists weren't even included in today’s (Jan. 15) announcement of the 2015 Academy Awards nominations. For Best Original Score, nods were given to Jóhann Jóhannsson’s work on ‘The Theory of Everything,’ Hans Zimmer’s score for ‘Interstellar,’ Alexandre Desplat for both Wes Anderson’s ‘The Grand Budapest Hotel’ as well as ‘The Imitation Game,’ and Gary Yershon’s score for ‘Mr. Turner.’

Fortunately for Best Original Song, even without Del Rey and Lorde, there is a silver lining: Tegan and Sara were nominated for their song with the Lonely Island, ‘Everything Is Awesome,’ which appeared in ‘The Lego Movie.’ They're up against Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine’s ‘Lost Stars’ from ‘Begin Again,’ Rita Ora’s ‘Grateful’ from ‘Beyond the Lights,’ Glen Campbell’s ‘I’m Not Gonna Miss You’ for ‘Glen Campbell … I’ll Be Me’ and lastly, John Legend and Common’s ‘Glory,’ which took home the Golden Globe for Best Original Song in ‘Selma.’

We’ll have to wait until Feb. 22 to find out whether Tegan and Sara will make up for the lack of nominations for Reznor, Del Rey and Lorde (that’s when the Oscars air on ABC). Until then, read the full list of Academy Awards nominations over on ScreenCrush.
