Temples Make Plans for 'Mesmerise Live' EP

U.K. psychedelic prog-rockers Temples have already had quite the busy year. Just a few months after releasing their debut LP, ‘Sun Structures,’ the quartet announced details for a remixed and reimagined album called ‘Sun Restructured.’ Now, just a couple of weeks before they kick off their North American tour, Temples have unveiled plans for their next effort: a four-track EP entitled ‘Mesmerise Live.’

Temples’ North American tour begins Sept. 19 in Vancouver; the day before the gig, Fat Possum Records will release the new EP that highlights the progression of the band since the release of ‘Sun Structures.' Taking fans directly to the place where the magic is made, all of the tracks are recorded live in-studio -- and there will be accompanying videos for each song.

Giving fans an idea of what to expect from 'Mesmerise Live,' Temples have shared the companion high-definition footage for ‘Mesmerise’ -- an epic nine-minute rendition of the original four-minute tune. Watch it below:

The tracklist for 'Mesmirise Live' will include 'Mesmirise,' 'Ankh,' 'Move With the Season' and 'Sun Structures.'

In addition to the new EP (and the remix album), the band's 'Sun Structures' will also be re-released on Sept. 30 in support of October's National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Temples are one of 10 bands to reissue their albums on pink vinyl, and for every record shipped, one dollar will go to Gilda's Club NYC -- a non-profit created in the memory of original Saturday Night Live cast member, Gilda Radner, who passed away from ovarian cancer in '89.
