The haunting new trailer for the slasher film ‘Texas Chainsaw 3D’ features a song that is just as gripping -- ‘The Beast in Me’ by Mark Lanegan.

The song was written by British singer-songwriter Nick Lowe, and Johnny Cash made it famous by including it on his 1994 album ‘American Recordings.’ In 2011, former Screaming Trees and Queens of the Stone Age member Mark Lanegan’s version appeared on the official soundtrack for ‘The Hangover Part II’ -- and it has made a comeback this year in the preview for the upcoming horror flick (shown below).

Lanegan has been involved in a number of musical projects over the years, working with groups such as the Twilight Singers, Soulsavers and UNKLE. In addition, he was part of the duo the Gutter Twins and has collaborated extensively with former Belle and Sebastian singer Isobel Campbell.

Recently, Lanegan has been focusing his attention on solo material, as evidenced by his new record, ‘Blues Funeral,’ which hit stores back in February. 'Burning Jacob's Ladder,' a Japanese bonus track from the album, was also featured in the trailer for the popular video game ‘RAGE.’
