The one and only B-52's have dug deep into their vaults to find Live! 8-24-1979, which is set for release on April 21 via Rhino. The concert was recorded at the Berklee Center in Boston shortly after the release of the band's classic self-titled debut LP.

"We opened up for the Talking Heads just six weeks after our first record was released," the band recall on their Facebook page. "We were a little scared of the audience so we kept our heads down and focused -- and we danced like mad when there was a break! Ricky was so fierce on the guitar -- so intense -- it was all so raw and live and we loved it."

This archival show (which you can listen to below) features songs from their debut as well as songs that would appear on Wild Planet the following year. Live! 8-24-1979 will be released as a digital download only: "We will share this rare early show with you all! **You’re WHAT??** Surpriiiiisssee! We're releasing it digitally on iTunes, Amazon, HD Tracks and other such fine websites. Play loud. The B's."

The B-52's are still at it and will be hitting the road this summer sharing stages with the likes of Tears for Fears, Psychedelic Furs and the English Beat, among others. In addition, B-Girl Kate Pierson has just released her debut solo album, Guitars and Microphones, which will receive a special vinyl release on Record Store Day.
