While everyone else was seemingly looking for quicker and more convenient ways to release their albums, the Dead Weather were finding an innovative way to take their time. After about two years of releasing songs from the album as 7" singles, the supergroup featuring Jack White and the Kills frontwoman Alison Mosshart will release their third album, Dodge & Burn, in September via White's Third Man Records.

The Dead Weather first teased a follow-up to 2010's Sea of Cowards back in 2013 when they announced they would release a 7" including the tracks "Open Up (That's Enough)" and "Rough Detective" as part of Third Man Records' Vault series. They've since released two more songs from the album, but Dodge & Burn will also feature eight completely new tracks to go alongside the four previously released ones all remixed and remastered.

There will also be a special edition of the album released as Vault Package #25 the same week as the regular album. It'll feature the album on opaque yellow vinyl with black "debris," a deck of custom playing cards, a limited edition poster and more. Subscriptions for the package are open here until July 31.

According to a press release, the band will not be touring around the album. It says: "Alison Mosshart, Jack White, Dean Fertita and Jack Lawrence spent their rare and sporadic free moments over the past year recording together in Nashville. With the members of the band heavily involved in other projects, The Dead Weather will not be touring in support of the new album. Thankfully the thick and heavy Dodge & Burn will satisfy your urges for the dark magic that is The Dead Weather for a very long time."
