The National Cover ‘Bob’s Burgers’ Thanksgiving Song

The National have turned in quite the unexpected cover of a Thanksgiving-themed song that appeared yesterday (Nov. 18) on 'Bob's Burgers.' Linda, the matriarch of the show's Belcher family, sang the jokey, impromptu song during the latest episode of the Fox animated show, and the 'Bob's Burgers' producers asked the National to record a version. 

Singer Matt Berninger and co. obliged, turning in a dark, dramatic and humorously melancholic version of Linda's Turkey Day ditty, which features lyrics like "Pass the cranberry sauce," "The whole world is thanking us for thanking you" and "Kill the turkey." Berninger's deep baritone is accompanied by sparse finger-picked guitar, and the band certainly put their own stamp on the end result.
