James Hinton, the mastermind behind the Range and one of the standout performers at CMJ last month, goes very literal in his new video for ‘Telescope.’ This is the first clip to emerge from his much-talked-about sophomore album, ‘Nonfiction.’

Directed by Peter Taylor, the video is set in the desert, where we see space-gazing telescopes through a scratched lens. Taylor's staticky, breathtaking time-lapse footage fits nicely with Hinton's mostly instrumental track -- a fluttering example of the Brown grad’s brainy meld of R&B, hip-hop and grime.

'Nonfiction' fell to earth Oct. 14 via Donky Pitch. Train your gaze here for more info.
