The Shins Add Fall 2012 Tour Dates

The Shins are currently in the midst of a major tour run throughout the U.S., but those who are missing out this time may be taken care of this fall.

The group just announced a dozen more shows in support of the ‘Port of Morrow’ album. The new batch of performances begins on September 22 at Seattle’s Paramount Theater and concludes on October 13 with their Austin City Limits Festival appearance.

The good news for Shins fans is that the fall dates will include an expanded lineup for the band. James Mercer has added additional guitarist and lap steel player Mark Watrous to the group, bolstering the standard lineup of Mercer, bassist Yuuki Matthews, guitarist Jessica Dobson, keyboardist Richard Swift and drummer Joe Plummer.

The Shins have teamed up with lifestyle website Gilt City to sell advance tickets for a portion of the trek. Pre-sale dates for those shows start today (May 30) at Noon ET at Gilt City’s website. Pre-sales for the remainder of the run also kick off today at Noon ET at The Shins’ website.
