For one year, the Stone Foxes are releasing brand new music on the first Friday of each month. Today (March 6), Diffuser is very excited to partner with them on their latest release, “I Want to Be You.” You can listen to it in the audio player below.

At the end of the 12 months (March marks month No. 7), the Stone Foxes plan to put together all of the new songs with live versions and extra tracks for “one big honking amazing album compilation.”

"Magazines, commercials, billboards ... all of them are covered with really, really good looking people, and the point of having them on there is to make the rest of us envious," drummer Shannon Koehler tells us about their latest song. "It might even get to the point where you wish that you were someone else. What if you wanted to be someone else so bad that you murdered them to steal their identity? Then you could get the looks that they get, and people would love you like they love the face on the magazine."

He goes on about "I Want to Be You," "I'm not gonna lie, I felt weird and creepy writing this one. I guess I just want to take envy to the limit."

The San Francisco-based band have a number of shows scheduled throughout March, including many SXSW appearances all over Austin. You can stay up-to-date with everything happening in their world -- and even pre-order the upcoming compilation, Twelve Spells -- at their official website.
