10 Rockers We Want to See as ‘The Voice’ Mentors

When it was announced last week that Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong would be appearing as a mentor on the next season of 'The Voice,' it got us thinking that the alternative and indie rock community offers a wealth of musical knowledge that has been largely ignored by the show. Sure, Smashing Pumpkins head Billy Corgan offered his services to judge on 'American Idol,' but they didn't take the bait. It's not surprising, but it is a shame.

What follows are our picks of 10 alt and indie stars we'd love to see appear as mentors on 'The Voice.' We doubt that any of them will ever appear on the show -- and many of them probably wouldn't be caught dead doing it, no matter how lucrative an offer they were given. No matter -- it's fun to dream.
