‘Trash Talk’ Bassist Knocks a Drone Down With a Beer Can

Drones have become ubiquitous, and some people aren’t happy about that. Take, for example, Spencer Pollard, the bass player for California hardcore band Trash Talk. Either he didn’t appreciate the drone stealing focus from the band, or he likes breaking stuff that isn’t his.

Trash Talk was playing at an indoor skate park in Detroit this past Monday during the Zumiez Best Foot Forward skateboarding event when Pollard noticed the small, flying helicopter buzzing over the stage. He started throwing beer bottles and cans at it, knocking it out of the air on his third try.

Harry Arnold, who owned and was piloting the drone, exchanged words with the band after their set. ”I expressed my bewilderment at why he would do that — I didn’t use that line, but that’s the gist of what happened — and he was like, ‘Screw you,’ and I was like, ‘Screw you,’ and that was that,” Arnold told MLive.

Arnold posted the drone’s-eye-view of the incident on YouTube, writing in the about section that Pollard took the drone down “… with a very limp-wristed toss.”

Arnold said that he’s just glad no one got hurt. “People had kids in the concert, and when it came down, if it had come down on a kid in a stroller, it could have dome some serious damage,” Arnold said.
