Trent Reznor's latest collaboration with Atticus Ross is "Juno," a song meant to celebrate the arrival of the NASA spacecraft in Jupiter's orbit on July 4.

The atmospheric eight-minute tune, released via Apple Music and attached for streaming above, features a musical twist according to Consequence of Sound: "Juno" was completed with recordings of Jupiter's electromagnetic fields, which have a singing-type effect.

Reznor and Ross have established a celebrated career in movie scores, even as they founded the side band How to Destroy Angels. The duo won an Oscar for the score of David Fincher's 2010 film The Social Network, and a Grammy for 2011's The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, also by Fincher.

"Collaborating with him brings out the best in me, and I would hope he would say it brings out the best in him," Ross told Hitfix last summer. "We’ve worked together for a long time and being in the studio is a bit like being stranded on a ship in the middle of the ocean. You develop a friendship that’s different to other friendships because – me and Trent have spent more time together in the last 10 years than we have spent with our families. And within that, beyond the friendship, I think you develop a language between the two of you that just becomes second nature."

Their score for 2014's Gone Girl was the most recent new music we've heard from Reznor, though he's promised a new Nine Inch Nails album this year – the first from Reznor's main band since 2013’s Hesitation Marks. Reznor has also been constructing a rock opera focusing on Fight Club, and a video game score.
