Tropicana 2013 Commercial – What’s the Song?

Who doesn’t love a refreshing glass of orange juice on a sunny day? Tropicana’s new commercial reminds us to enjoy the little things in life – and even have a dance party in the street, if we feel so inclined. The ad stars charming singer-songwriter Ingrid Michaelson covering the Beatles’ ‘Good Day Sunshine.’

Michaelson has released five full-length discs since beginning her career back in 2002. You might have heard some of her original tunes in commercials for Old Navy, Target, Ritz Crackers and Mott’s, or in episodes of ‘Grey’s Anatomy,’ ‘Parenthood,’ ‘Ugly Betty,’ ‘90210,’ ‘One Tree Hill’ and ‘Scrubs.’

Her latest album, ‘Human Again,’ dropped last January via Mom + Pop Records. More recently, she recorded a version of ‘Somewhere Over the Rainbow’ featuring 21 students from the Sandy Hook Elementary School choir in Newtown, Conn. Former Talking Heads members Chris Frantz and Tina Weymouth offered up their studio for the special recording. The track is available for download here, and proceeds will benefit the Newtown Youth Academy and the United Way of Western Connecticut.
